What is a freelance job? Is it like a part-time or work from home or a contractual job?

The word freelance covers a broad area and may relate to any field or functional area. A freelance job can be home-based or part-time/ full-time or even contractual in nature. You may work for a company or an individual but generally it’s all about working for different companies (or individual) at different times rather than being permanently by one. In other words as a freelance you are suppose to sell your service to any master (employer)who is ready to pay you for your work.

 

What type of work a freelancer can do?

No matter what, almost everything comes under the zone of a freelance job. Accounting (CPA), advertising, bookkeeping, bulk mailings, business writing, career counseling, catering, computer networking, computer programming, computer technician, copywriting, creative writing, customer service, data entry, fashion design, financial planning, photography, tax planning, T-shirt design, voice talents, web design, web programming, recruitment… ah the list is endless indeed. Anyhow to create less confusion we are going to discuss only about the freelance writer job in this article.

Who can be a successful freelance writer? What qualification I need for that?

If you get pleasure in writing and want to show your resplendent writing skills then you are the perfect candidate for this position. Even though you don’t exactly need any formal degree to build your career in this field, some publishers may require the candidate to be at least a Graduate. But again it all depends on your skill and ability in writing that matters.

Usually freelance writer job is contractual in nature, but to my knowledge no one literarily sign any formal contracts on a paper. What is most important for a freelance writer is to finish the work within a specified amount of time… And once you are done you can go for the next. Apart from that you need excellent writing and analytical skills, profound knowledge of certain fields and ability to conduct extensive research in a specific field. In case of being a technical writer you need first-rate understanding of technology and software, proficiency in his field and ability to solve technical problems.

Earnings:

A question often asked whether a career of freelance writer good enough to earning ones living? The short answer is: YES! But literarily it all depends on your quality of writing and ability to create new content regularly.

As a beginner you can earn up to $US 20 per page.

Approximately the earning of a professional non-technical writer is around $US 1000 and a technical-writer or scientific writer is capable of earning more.

Technological advances are permanently reducing job opportunities all over the world. We can’t stop advancement but we can definitely try to find out alternative career opportunities available. Entrepreneurship is one such option which is being largely followed by youngsters today. Entrepreneurship has a large definition but here we are going to discuss sole-proprietorship type of entrepreneurships. In this case a single person organizes, operates and takes financial risk of the business. Entrepreneurship starts with a new idea.

Besides the lack of suitable opportunity other reasons that might cause an individual to opt for entrepreneurship are independence, freedom, creative way of working, avoiding workplace drama, dissatisfaction from career progress, zeal to try something new, larger scope and finally being the boss of their own. Self-employment opportunities in Goa

Good news for unemployed youths in Goa those looking for self-employment opportunities to fulfill their short-term or long-term career needs. The Government of Goa amended the Deendayal Swayam Rozgar Yojana Scheme to provide Self Employment opportunities in the State. The amended Scheme shall deem to have come into force with immediate effect. The prime objective of this scheme to reduce unemployment in Goa on a permanent/semi permanent basis. It’s definitely an encouragement for the unemployed youth section in the state.

This Scheme shall be implemented through the Goa Handicrafts. Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Ltd. This Scheme will be open for all residents of Goa with minimum 15 years of domicile and upto 40 years of age having minimum educational qualification of Std 8 in any medium of instruction. And there is age relaxation (5 years) for handicapped and widows.
